About

When performing, instead of saying “Break a Leg”, I always say “Dance in the Light.” This has two meanings. 1. If you are on stage and you can’t feel heat of the light on your body or the light is not in your eyes, chances are you are in the wrong place! Your audience will not see you properly and therefore cannot know how amazing you are. 2. It is a state of being. It is being completely in the zone and wrapped in your brilliance. You are on point, you know it, and you own every ounce of yourself!

I try to execute this mantra not only on stage, but also in life. I am a performer, aspiring author/poet, and arts educator who is in the middle of making my dreams come true! It is my hope that this blog will inspire, bring new perspectives, and help people (myself included) to become their best selves by investigating what it means to have a healthy body, clear and thoughtful mind, and an elevated spirit. I am no expert by any means! I am in this with you – smack dab in the middle of trying to find peace and harmony in all aspects of my life. Clearly, this is will not be easy, but I’ve had enough glimpses of the future to know that the work is worth it.

What can you expect to find here? My progressing weight loss journey – so there may be exercise routines that I’m trying or the occasional successful recipe; excerpts from my book, “Live in Your Brilliance: Simple Tips to Changing Perspective” and engaging thoughts, and inspirations, poetry, faith, and culture. I know it sounds like a lot, but you will find that these things will overlap in our pursuit for balance.

Are you ready? Here we go!

Much love,
Vernée
